General Overview
This event usually draws in strong expert level players. Mostly adults. A few strong kids. To see past wall charts, view the posts/photos in our Facebook Group. We run these unrated blitz events on a Friday night, usually once a month. Please text us at least by 6:30 pm the day of if you plan on coming. This allows the TD to set up registrations in advance so the event can start on time at 7 pm.
This is an UNRATED Blitz G/5 d0 chess tournament following USCF Blitz Rules. No USCF membership required. Entry fee is $7 for club members, add $3 registration fee for non-members of the Chess Refinery. Expected 8 round Swiss tournament, section(s) to be determined based on number of entries and ratings of players. 70% of all entry fees collected will be returned as cash prizes. Event will last approx 2 hours. Expect to finish by about 9 pm or so. First round starts at 7 pm. Be present by 6:45 pm to pay the EF in CASH, all credit cards will have a $1.25 extra processing charge.
