How to Register: Best to register online. If spots are still available we will have on-site registration or phone registration. Use of Desktop PC to register is preferred over phone. See registration form at bottom of this page. GM/IM Titled players, fill out the registration form, skip the payment step and contact us via text message 281.698.0068 for free entry (EF to be deducted from any prize winnings).
Parking Instructions: Paid Parking in the Westin garage is available - ask for a discount sticker from the TDs upon arrival to attach to the parking ticket. For overnight parking - ask the hotel for their rates - no discounts are available for overnight parking. If you opt to park in the mall parking lot, you can go across the skybridge to the hotel. The mall security will tow vehicles if they are left in the mall lot overnight - but they are not to tow if you are visiting the mall during biz hours. Please note the SKYWALK is only open from 6am to 5pm. If you are inside you'll be able to get out but you won't be able to access/enter the hotel from the skywalk after 5pm.

You may request to play up a section if you meet the below requirements:
*to play up to the Championship section, you must have achieved a "post tnmt rating" of at least 1825 OTB regular USCF rtg sometime during 2025 or be FIDE rated 1800+.
*to play up to the Club section, you must have achieved a "post tnmt rating" of at least 1525 OTB regular USCF rtg sometime during 2025.
*Unrated USCF Foreign players with FIDE ratings please reach out to confirm what section you may play in

What NOT to Bring
Smart watches or any other electronic devices that generate noise or looks like it can communicate. No electronic chess boards allowed unless provided by the TD/Organizer. Cell phones will need to be turned off or silent, no vibrations and placed in a spot as instructed by the chief TD. Phones cannot be on your person or in your possession while during a round.

No electronic notation devices will be allowed unless with prior approval and physical review by the tournament director prior to use.

Byes
Request at the maximum, 2 half-point byes, upon registration but no later than after finishing round 2 or by 6:15pm on Saturday.
Missed rounds, unplayed games, byes, forfeits do NOT affect your chess rating however forfeits are frowned upon.

80% Refund Policy
Refunds/Withdrawals must be requested by Wed, 10/22/25 to receive an 80% refund. Send a text message to 281.698.0068.
All other subsequent withdrawals are not refunded regardless of when you registered. We DO NOT offer credit for future events.
