Look for a local chess club and join their casual in person meetups. Join our facebook group to keep up to date. These meetups have times and locations that can change regularly.

Private Coach

Hire a private chess coach. In the Houston area the average minimum cost ranges from $25 - $50 an hour. Some coaches go up to $75-$125 an hour for a private lesson. You can find a list of chess organizations here.
