Parking Information

If you park near Maggiano's, go up the stairs/escalator to the skywalk that stretches across Gessner Rd and walk over to the hotel. The skybridge may not be open early AM hours, in that case, just go across Gessner Rd along the crosswalk. Look for signs guiding you to the Starbucks which is inside the hotel. The hotel does have a parking garage. We can provide discounted garage rates upon arrival (ask TD "K" for a parking garage coupon sticker to affix to your ticket).

Championship (open to 1800+ USCF players only)*
Amateur (unrated up to 1799 USCF)

*to play up to the Championship section, you must have achieved a post tnmt rating of at least 1750 OTB regular USCF rtg sometime during the years of 2021 and 2022 or be FIDE rated 1700+

Saturday Aug 20th 2022: 9am, 2pm, 645pm
Sunday Aug 21st 2022: 9am, 1:45pm

Entry Fees

Early EF $97 if paid by 10pm cst, Sat, August 13, 2022.
EF is $110 if paid between 10pm Aug 13 - 17th, $120 EF afterwards

Prizes

$3500 Prize Fund based on 100 paid entries, see estimated prizes below
Championship $1050 - 630 - 420
Amateur $600 - 400 - 200, Top U1500 $100, Top U1300 $100

What to Bring

Bring your own playing equipment (pieces, board, pencils, clock)
We will be providing notation sheets.

What to Do Upon Arrival

​There is no check-in process. You do not have to check in with the TD. Plan to be early, not late.
If you register and cannot make the tournament or are running late, please email/text us.
Find your pairings. They will be posted online and/or on a piece of paper posted on-site at the event.
You will be notified via text message of where the pairings are posted. Please be patient & wait.
Ensure your phone is turned off and stored away, not on your person, shortly before the start of the round.

Byes

Request at the maximum, 2 half-point byes, upon registration but no later than after finishing round 2 or by 6:15pm on Saturday.
Missed rounds, unplayed games, byes, forfeits do NOT affect your chess rating.

Mask Policy

This is a "mask optional" event.
​Mask wearing will not be enforced except in particular situations as deemed necessary by the tournament director and/or organizer of the event.

Refund Policy

Refunds/Withdrawals must be requested by Wed August 17th to receive a 70% refund.
All changes/requests will incur additional transaction fees due to processing charges.

Pairings & Regulatory Guidelines

Championship section is FIDE rated and uses FIDE rules. See FIDE Handbook online. 
Amateur section is USCF Rated only.
USCF ratings, pairings & prize distribution rules used for all sections.
