Details

Players without an official USCF or FIDE rating will have to provide proof of some sort of online ELO rating whether thru a chess app or chess website. Rating used for pairing purposes is subject to adjustments by the tournament director at their discretion as deemed appropriate.
Sections: Only one section
Format: Swiss 8 rounds, G/5;d0.
There will be a short break after round 4 finishes. All other rounds will be back to back. # of rounds may be adjusted if necessary based on # of registered players. Clocks will be programmed to stop once one player runs out of time. All players expected to buy at least one beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic from the bar).  There is a food truck available on site. You are also welcome to get food from Mia's table or Torchy's tacos nearby and bring it on site. However, outside beverages are strictly prohibited. Clocks and sets will be provided by The Chess Refinery. You do not need to bring playing equipment. This is a touch move competition, not touch clock. You will need to check in for this event. If you are not checked-in you will receive a 0.5pt bye for the first round and you will not be paired to play. If you pull a no-show and we do not hear from you by the time the first round is over, you will be automatically withdrawn from the event. This is NOT a knockout tournament. Expect to play all 8 rounds as long as we have an even number of players. Odd man out will get a bye (a free point) if there's no opponent to play against.

Cost to play

$15 Entry Fee, must prepay thru Zelle or Square prior to attending thru the registration form below, non-refundable due to limited spot availability.
$2 credit card processing fee if paying thru Square credit card option

What to Bring

Nothing. We will supply heavy weighted sets and clocks for this event. You can opt to bring your own clock, but you must program it to completely stop the timer on both ends once one player runs out of time.
